Stage Surfaces: What Do You Choose?

Our staging platforms are built to support our customers, and to make that happen we’ve developed a range of different surfaces for use under different circumstances – and where it’s appropriate, we can match existing décor given samples of vinyl flooring or carpet tiles to make sure the staging blends in superbly.

So what can you expect?

Anthracite Carpet

Our standard carpet finish for indoor use is an anti-static, heavy contract fine ribbed needle punch carpet. This is hardwearing carpet affixed with industrial strength glue, making sure that edges won’t peel up. Carpet finishes can significantly improve venue acoustics, and we offer a wide selection of colours to suit your décor.

Varnished or Painted Black Finish

We can apply a clear varnish or apply hardwearing black paint, protecting the timber and providing a high-quality finish. We particularly recommend this solution if your stage will regularly be used by dancers as a carpeted stage can interfere with their freedom of movement. It’s also excellent for any venue that wants their staging system to look clean and traditional.

Hexa-Grip

Supplied as standard on our Debut staging systems, Hexa-Grip features a phenolic finish; they’re weather-resistant and slip-resistant. We recommend the use of Hexa-Grip finish where traction is the primary concern, which is why it’s standard on the Debut; when younger children perform on stage, extra stability is essential.
\nAs standard, we supply Hexa-Grip surfacing in two colours, black and dove. We’re happy to discuss which will be most suitable to your circumstances; you only have to get in touch.

Buffalo Board

Designed primarily for use where long-lasting, hardwearing use is the top priority, buffalo board is weather-resistant and slip-resistant with a durable 220g\/m2 phenolic coating. It comes highly recommended for both indoor and outdoor stages and will work flexibly across both flat and tiered stages.

Lacquered

The other primary option for Debut staging systems is a lacquered top, and these are highly popular beyond the Debut range as well. It’s easy to see why; they look fantastic, they’re high quality, and they can really add a touch of excellence.
