Mike Sweetland (BA MBA) – Managing Director
Founder of Mainstage with over 40 years’ experience working in the theatrical industry. Carries ultimate responsibility for all areas of the business focusing largely on the strategic side of the operation as well as the day to day running.
Michael Charlton (BSc) – Operations Director
Responsibilities ranging from factory manager to managing dispatches. Accountable for the day to day running of the factory, including commercial and related details.
Elaine Sweetland – HR Director
With a strong business focus Elaine ensures that here at Mainstage we have the right people in the right places, she is also heavily involved with the strategic side of the business.
Michael Varley – General Manager
Michael is involved with the everyday running of the business and is an expert in all Mainstage computer systems as well as the CAD and 3D drawing packages. A customer facing member of the team with responsibilities as a mentor to new members of staff, and is involved with the strategic side of the business.
Kirstie Howard – Financial Controller
Kirstie keeps our accounts and most of the team in order, with a keen eye for detail she ensures that everything is exactly as it should be.
Simon Thomas – Sales Engineer
With over 20 years working in the theatrical industry, Simon is responsible for managing sales, dealer liaison and end user training. A specialist in the staging side of the business with unrivaled experience in problem solving.

With backgrounds in the theatre as well as in computer-aided design, our team has the advantage in understanding the ever-changing needs of our clients.
